As we all know that Muharram marks the start of the Islamic Year and it is one of the four sanctified months, which is why it is known as Muharram-ul-Haraam.
Allah S.W.T says in Surah Taubah Verse 36:
‘Indeed, the number of months with Allah is twelve [lunar] months in the register of Allah [from] the day He created the heavens and the earth; of these, four are sacred. That is the correct religion, so do not wrong yourselves during them.’ (9:36)
We understand from this verse that while sinning in any month is prohibited, sinning in these sacred months is even graver and counted multiple of times.
Same is the case of good deeds, while they are rewarded if done with sincerity throughout the year, they are rewarded even more and written multiple times if they are performed during these sacred months.
Therefore, let us perform the obligatory act of seeking knowledge in the month of Muharram and seek countless reward from Allah, the Most Merciful.
