The earthquakes around the world have become more frequent over the previous few years. The historical geographic data has shown that earth has been jolted real badly and people around the world, busy in their own lives are unaware of these severe geographical happenings.

Frequent Earthquakes predictions in Qur’an and Hadith
Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) predicted these frequent earthquakes 1400 years ago, being one of the Minor signs of Qayamah (Judgement Day).
The numerous earthquakes prior to the Final Hour mean that they will happen all over the world and all the time.
Abu Musa Al-Ash’ari (R.a) narrated that Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said:
“My Ummah is a nation that is blessed; it will not be punished in the hereafter because Allah has caused its punishment to come in this world, in the form of killing, earthquakes, and turmoil.” (Ahmad and Al-Haakim)
This may be a kind of mercy for the entire Ummah and a worldly punishment for its sins and the massive corruption they have caused over the period of time.
On an occasion Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said as narrated by ‘Abd-Allaah ibn Hawaalah Al-Azdi (R.a),
“Ibn Hawaalah, when you see the Caliphate settled in the holy land, earthquakes, calamities, and tremendous events will have drawn near. On the day, the Last Hour will be nearer to mankind than this hand of mine to your head.” (Abu Dawood)
Allah (SWT) says in Surah Al-Hajj (1-2),
“O mankind, fear your Lord (The Almighty). The earthquake of the (Final) Hour is a terrible thing. On the day you will see that every nursing mother will forsake her child she was nursing; and every pregnant female will cast her burden; and the people will appear to you in a drunken state, though they will not be drunk; but the punishment of Allah (SWT) severe.”
According to a Saheeh Hadith, Abu Hurayrah (R.a) reported that Prophet (PBUH) said,
“The hour will not begin until knowledge is taken away and many earthquakes occur.” (Al-Bukhari)
These short frequent earthquakes are the buildup for the massive earthquake of the Final (Hour). Nothing is happening without the permission of Allah (SWT) and it’s in His total control.
Allah (SWT) mentions in the Holy Qur’an,
“And We sent not the signs except to warn” [Al-Israa’ 17:59]
Allah is the all wise and the all knowing. He knows how to frighten the entire Ummah and remind them of their obligations and all the duties towards him.
This is also a way of Allah (SWT) to warn His people to never associate Him with anyone and to never go against His command and to obey Him in any condition whatsoever.
Allah says in the Qur’an,
“We will show them Our Signs in the universe, and in their own selves, until it becomes manifest to them that this (the Qur’aan) is the truth. Is it not sufficient in regard to your Lord that He is a Witness over all things?” [Fussilat 41:53]
By observing the amount of recent earthquakes taking place, one can easily say that the Final (Hour) is not much far. The signs are appearing at an alarming rate and the end times seem to be approaching (Allah knows best).
We still have time to repent to Allah (SWT) and ask for forgiveness with sincerity and make Du’a (Supplicate), so that He (SWT) can guide us to the right path, which can be beneficial for us in this world and the hereafter.
We all should sincerely ask Allah to reform those who are in authority over the affairs of the Muslims, so that they can follow the truth and exterminate falsehood and rule according to Laws defined by Allah (SWT), which seems the only solution to save us from the wrath of Allah.
